Great Allegheny Passage Reopens Saturday May 1 in Elizabeth Township PA
After being closed for just over 6 months to allow for the construction of a new sanitary sewer forcemain, reconstruction of the trail surface and trail drainage; the project team is pleased to report that the trail will reopen to all users Saturday May 1.
Please note that periodically the contractors and trail maintenance vehicles will be on the trail doing final adjustments and short detours or closures may be required.
Exercise extreme care along the sides of the new 10’ riding surface as the limestone edges and topsoil have not completely settled and are still very soft in places. Due to the soft shoulders, construction and maintenance vehicles may not be able to move off the trail for several weeks.
