The Elizabeth Township Police Department provides residents with 24-hour-a-day, 7-days-a-week police protection. The Police currently have 11 full-time sworn officers and a K-9 named Eli under the command of Chief Kerestes.
The Police Department has adopted a community-oriented policing concept. Our officers are dedicated to the continued protection and service to our neighborhoods by working in partnership with citizens to creatively solve problems.
The police welcome interaction through various methods including neighborhood meetings and area crime watches. Elizabeth Township police demonstrate commitment by providing the highest level of service, at all times, to those we serve.

Qualified persons who are eligible for Act 120 certification and have successfully completed Act 120 training are invited to apply to take competitive examinations leading to eligibility for appointment as Police Officer in the Elizabeth Township Police Department. An application and details of the selection process may be obtained at the Township Manager’s Office, Elizabeth Township Municipal Building, 522 Rock Run Road, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday or print out online at www.elizabethtwppa.com. Applicants must meet all Civil Service requirements. Completed applications, including a non-refundable application fee of $55.00, check or money order made payable to Elizabeth Township, must be filed by 4:00pm, Friday, March 8, 2019. The physical and written examinations will be conducted at the Allegheny County Police Academy located at 700 West Ridge Drive, Allison Park, PA 15101 on Tuesday March 26th, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. Those that successfully pass the physical agility will be qualified to take the written test.
