Construction for the Industry Road bridge, spanning Boyds Hollow Run in Elizabeth Township, has been delayed to start until October 24th. It was previously scheduled to begin on October 17th. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from the Allegheny County’s structurally deficient list.
Construction will last for approximately five weeks. During this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Boyds Hollow Road, Fallen Timber Road, Howell Road, and Rock Run Road.

Allegheny County Bridge to be Replaced as Part of Public-Private Partnership.
Bridgeville, PA – Construction for the Industry Road (SR 2017_ bridge, spanning Boyds Hollow Run in Elizabeth Township, is scheduled to begin as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Replacement of this bridge will allow PennDOT to remove it from Allegheny County’s structurally deficient list.
Construction is expected to being on October 17th and last for approximately five weeks. during this time, drivers will be directed to follow a detour along Boyds Hollow Road, Fallen Timber Road, Howell Road (SR 48) and Rock Run Road.
Built in 1930, the bridge averages 2,029 vehicles a day.
This bridge is referred to as JV-425 out of 558 bridges being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. JV reference the joint-venture partnership between Walsh/Granite, which is leading construction for the entire project.
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is a public-private partnership (P3) between PennDOT and Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP), under which PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain bridges for 25 years. The P3 approach will allow PennDOT to replace the bridges more quickly while achieving significant savings and minimizing impact on motorists.

Advertised Act 537 Plan Available for Review During Elizabeth Township Municipal Building Business Hours
The advertised Act 537 Plan is available for review at the Elizabeth Township Municipal Building during regular business hours, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday during the 30-day Public Comment period. In addition to the advertised Act 537 Plan, a KLH Power Point presentation of the Buena Vista and Boston Revised Act 537 Plan is available to be reviewed by residents. Requests for copies of these materials will have to be processed and a price for copies will be determined based on the request. Otherwise, all materials are available for review inside of the building only, free of charge.
Thursday, September 15, 2016 was an exciting night for Elizabeth Township Area EMS. In addition to taking delivery of a new ambulance, the organization was presented with two very prestigious recognitions. The first of these was presented by Alexander Kuhn of the American Heart Association (AHA). Mr. Kuhn presented the organization with a special recognition associated with the AHA’s Mission Lifeline Project (heart.org) for providing superior care for patients experiencing cardiac emergencies. The second award was presented by Curtis Neill of UPMC Prehospital Care. Mr. Neill spoke on behalf of the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (caas.org) and presented ETA-EMS with their Certificate of National Accreditation for meeting the highest standards of the EMS industry.
ADVERTISEMENT FOR SALE OF A 1997 FORD SUPER DUTY BUCKET TRUCK OWNED BY ELIZABETH TOWNSHIP
Offers are now being accepted for the purchase of a 1997 Ford Super Duty Bucket Truck, which is owned by Elizabeth Township. The truck has approximately 61,294 miles. All bids are subject to the approval of Council of Elizabeth Township and all bids must be submitted to the Office of Elizabeth Township by 4:00p.m. October 13, 2016. Bids shall be opened at the commencement of the regular Elizabeth Township Council meeting scheduled for October 17, 2016 at 7:00p.m. A minimum bid of $5,000.00 has been established. All bids shall be reviewed and only accepted on the condition that payment of the purchase price in full shall be made within sixty (60) days of the acceptance of the bid. All bids should be accompanied by a bid bond in the amount of the bid or a certified check for 10% of the amount of the bid. Elizabeth Township Council shall have the authority to reject all bids as such bids are deemed to be less than the fair market value. The Township reserves the right to negotiate with all successful bidders until a valid Agreement of Sale is presented to and executed by the Township.
